Gary A. Pierson Appointed Chair of Capes Sokol’s Intellectual Property Group
Capes Sokol proudly announces the appointment of Attorney Gary A. Pierson as the new Chairperson of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Group. With over 24 years of experience in intellectual property, entertainment, and marketing law, Gary brings a wealth of expertise to his new leadership role.
Gary’s extensive background includes safeguarding the trademarks of globally recognized brands and representing iconic figures in the entertainment industry, such as multi-platinum-selling artists, Grammy winners, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legends. He previously founded and led a boutique Intellectual Property and entertainment firm in St. Louis and has helped guide creative entrepreneurs and innovators in industries ranging from music and film/TV to consumer products and advertising services.
As Gary assumes this pivotal position, Capes Sokol extends its gratitude to Senior Counsel Michael A. Kahn for his exceptional leadership over the past eight years. Mike’s contributions have been invaluable in guiding the Intellectual Property Group to success, earning recognition for his legal prowess and dedication to his clients.
A staunch advocate of creators’ rights, Mike is an award-winning author of eleven Rachel Gold novels, three standalone novels, and several short stories. He concentrates his practice on copyright, trademark, First Amendment, and media law, including libel and privacy rights. Mike is widely recognized as a trial lawyer in general commercial litigation and regularly advises clients on various intellectual property matters.
